Class Descriptions
"Music Babies" Ages 3 – 24 months
Babies instinctively react to music. These interactive classes are packed with lap and floor games, rhymes, dances and action songs that increase bonding and develops babies senses such as timing and balance, listening and motor skills. Each week parents learn activities that stimulate your baby’s natural response to music to use at home. Even before your baby can say their first word they can play an instrument.
"Music Tots" Ages 2 & 3 yrs
During this time, your toddler still relishes the comfort of the familiar while also seeking the challenge of something new. Together learning songs, musical activities that concentrate on singing and keeping a beat. As you move, sing and play you’ll uncover a musical world that enhances timing, listening and language skills and coordination. Many quality instruments, movement props, sing-a-story, colorful props and puppets help with language and memory development through vocal play, instrument exploration and movement.
"Music Kids" Ages 4 - 6 yrs
Music Kids will join in on instrument playing to building fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. They’ll learn songs that help build language and early phoenetic skills. Solo singing is encouraged to develop listening, pitch-matching, and language skills

Piano Adventures (ages 7-9: limit 6 students)
Class is an hour filled with group, partner and solo piano exercises. Children will also participate in fun music theory lessons, interactive singing, music games, drumming and other rhythm instruments. Piano classes include partner and duet practice, group exercises, ensemble work and individual time on the keyboards. Class will also include a Kingsize Floor Piano, Giant Music Staff, singing and movement activities. Children will learn techniques and music theory through music games, puppets and movement. Small class sizes held in Makawao in the afternoon.
My First Piano Adventures (ages 5 & 6)
Through imagery, metaphor, and a diverse world of sound, we seek to develop a foundation of aural perception, eye tracking, and physical coordination. There is special opportunity to develop perceptual ability at a young age. Skills unfold while we engage the child's inherent love of music. Children learn many styles of music as well as get to know the “Friends at the Piano” who help them learn. Friends Tap the Firefly and ear training with the dog, Tucker. This class also comes with a cd for young children to practice at home.
Dates: Piano Classes are ongoing throughout the school year August- June. There will be 4 classes a month. It is required to commit to piano class for 6 months.
The La-ti-Da keyboard lab is set up for 6 students each with individual keyboard in a classroom environment. Also equipped with a giant keyboard for floor games and a giant grand staff. Class is an hour filled with group, partner and solo piano exercises. Children will also participate in fun music theory lessons, interactive singing and music games.
Payment Options for Piano Class
$95 per month
$248 every 3 months
$470 every 6 months
Material Fee: $25 per semester (2x per year) covers cost of books, copies and class materials. There will be tax added. Each child gets a set of books to use in class and for take home practice.
Recorder Karate This class is designed for elementary ages and teaches the basics of playing the recorder combined with continuing knowledge of music. Children will learn how to play the recorder how to notate and read music and rhythms. Also taught will be basic ear training, music theory and some music history.
